PaddleSpace: 2087 A.D.
LOG ENTRY 6712594:
The time has finally come, we have discovered that we are not the only beings in the universe...
Unfortunately, attempts at communication have failed.
Today, battle has begun. Our sensors have detected the armada's approach towards our Mars Outpost.
Our only hope is to head the Aliens off. With our experimental ship, we may be able to thwart their attack on Earth.
Let Fate Be With Us...
Take control of your P.A.D.D.L.E. (Primary Alien Defense Destruction Light-speed Entity) to help save earth against the invasion of the Alien B.A.L.L. (Ballistic Alien Light-speed Lander).
Can you save the day?
Genre: Retro Arcade / Shmup
Things are going well but slow to polish up PaddleSpace to perfection. Look out for the final release later this summer.
PaddleSpace is Mikeware's entry in the 2007 Independent Games Festival. Unfortunately, we were not selected. They wouldn't tell us why, but that won't slow us down!
Well, one night I was very bored, and I felt like I needed to play a good'ole game of 'Pong'. The only problem was I felt that most 'Pong' and Paddle games were pretty stale. So, all of a sudden I thought of an idea. What if you could shoot the ball to change it's speed, and then as soon as bullets and space became a central theme 'Asteriods' had to follow... 3 hours later a working prototype was born.
Of course, the past two years have been filled with ups and downs, mainly as this is our first Major production and do to other commitments, it has taken a long time to get this game off the ground. It has been developed over the course of approximately 210 hours and counting.
With a techno soundtrack and simple graphics style, it gives that retro feel to its modern gameplay. And with a twist of 'Galaga' mixed in the fun just never ends. You can purchase the music CD containing some PaddleSpace tracks at the Mikeware™ Shop.
